WHAT IS MIGHTY BIN?

Mighty Bin is one of Australia's newest and easiest cleanup solution for many waste and rubbish removal problems. Mighty Bin is a specially designed, jumbo size, Flexible Intermediate Bulk Container ("FIBC). It is a flexible, disposable, single use, industrial strength waste bag which is made from extremely tough, woven polypropylene. Once filled, Mighty Bin is easily and safely removed by a Mighty Bin hiab truck and both the Mighty Bin and its contents are disposed of at the tip. The Mighty Bin is not returned after it is removed as it is a single use bag.  Mighty Bin is a more convenient, cost competitive, easy alternative to steel bins and can carry significant weights of waste and rubbish.

IS MIGHTY BIN LIKE A STEEL SKIP BIN?

Mighty Bin has a similar waste removal function as a steel skip bin but has been designed as a more convenient, less expensive and easy alternative to steel bins. It is extremely strong and can carry similar types of waste as equivalent size steel bins. However, because the Mighty Bin has a maximum weight carrying capacity of 1.5 tonnes (1500kgs) it is not suitable for projects which involve more than about 1 cubic metre of heavy materials such as sand, soil, bricks, concrete and tiles.  A steel skip bin should be used in such cases.

The advantages of Mighty Bin over steel bins are that you:

· have it on hand for easy, convenient and instant use,
· do not need to wait for it to be delivered - is available 7 days a week
· can take as long as you like filling it and you don't have to pay extra fees as you own your Mighty Bin (Steel skip bin hire fees can range from $10-15 per day after the intial 3 day hire period
· can place it in convenient positions on your property not just in the driveway or on the verge
· can prevent other people filling it with their own waste before you get a chance to use it,
· can fill it easier than a traditional, hard-sided steel skip bin.
· can easily make the Mighty Bin conform to odd shaped loads because of its flexibility

HOW SAFE AND STRONG IS MIGHTY BIN?

Mighty Bin is rated to safely carry a massive 1.5 tonnes (1500 kgs) of waste. It is manufactured from industrial strength, woven polypropylene in accordance with strict quality control procedures and has a 5:1 safety factor. It is also stringently tested to Australian Standard AS 3668:1989.  Generally, Mighty Bin won't tear if punctured unless it is punctured by a sharp object which continues to cut through the material.

Important note: as Mighty Bin is made of polypropylene it is affected by ultra violet rays and if left in direct sunlight for more than three (3) months Mighty Bin may start to break down and lose its strength. It may then become unsafe to be picked up. You should ensure that you arrange pickup of your Mighty Bin within three (3) months of filling it if it is left in the open sunlight or protect it from ultra violet rays by covering it with a suitable cover.

DOES THE PICKUP PRICE INCLUDE AN ALLOWABLE  WEIGHT LIMIT?

Yes, each size Mighty Bin has an allowable weight limit as follows:

1 cubic metre - 200kg; 2 cubic metre - 350 kg; 3 cubic metre - 500 kg.

If you fill up your Mighty Bin with more than the allowable weight then you will be charged for the excess weight in accordance with the current tip fees.

IMPORTANT: The maximum weight limit for any Mighty Bin, regardless of size, is 1.5 tonnes (1500 kgs)

If your Mighty Bin exceeds the maximum weight limit we may not be able to remove it or, if it is removed, additional charges will apply. Additional fees will also apply if a scheduled pickup cannot be performed due to overloading of your Mighty Bin.

As a general guide to staying within the maximum weight of 1.5 tonnes (1500 kgs) you should be aware that one cubic metre of dry sand or soil weighs approximately 1.5 tonnes. Therefore, no Mighty Bin should be loaded with more than 1 cubic metre of heavy material, regardless of the size of the Mighty Bin. One cubic metre is the equivalent of one and a half trailer loads (6x4 trailer) or 15 wheel barrow loads.

CAN I FILL MY MIGHTY BIN TO THE TOP?

You can fill your Mighty Bin right to the top providing it does not exceed the maximum weight limit.  You need to make sure that the lifting loops can be easily accessed so the hiab can safely lift the Mighty Bin on to the truck for removal.

TOP

DOES MIGHTY BIN HOLD LIQUIDS?

No. The Mighty Bin does not  hold water or other liquids or protect anything from getting wet because it is made of woven material which lets liquids seep through the bag.

.

TOP

DOES SUNLIGHT AFFECT MIGHTY BIN?

Mighty Bin is made of polypropylene and as such, it is affected by ultra violet rays and if left in direct sunlight for more than three (3) months Mighty Bin may start to break down and lose its strength. It may then become unsafe to be picked up. You should ensure that you arrange for pickup of your Mighty Bin within three (3) months of taking it out of its packaging and filling it.

WHERE SHOULD I PLACE MY MIGHTY BIN? D0 I NEED A VERGE PERMIT?

Many local councils do not allow skip bins or skip bags to be placed on the verge unless the householder has a council permit to do so.  If you intend to place your Mighty Bin on the verge then you should check with your council to see if you need a permit.  The cost of any permit is not included in the Mighty Bin bag price or the pickup price and it is your responsibility to obtain and pay for any such permit.

Your Mighty Bin must be placed within 4 metres of the street kerb or driveway. Any driveway needs to be at least 3 metres wide to allow safe access for our truck. Our truck requires 9 metres of height to safely collect your Mighty Bin, so you must not place your Mighty Bin under tree branches, phone or power lines. If you place your Mighty Bin behind a fence then that fence must be no more than 1.2 metres high. Council regulations may prohibit you from placing your Mighty Bin on the kerb or roadside and you should check with your local council before you place your Mighty Bin there.

TOP

WHAT CAN I PUT IN MY MIGHTY BIN?

You can put non- contaminated heavy materials such as dirt, brick, rock, soil, concrete, sand, asphalt, plaster, stucco, etc, into your Mighty Bin, preferably in the bottom of the Mighty Bin. TOP

TOP

CAN I FILL MY MIGHTY BIN USING A WHEELBARROW?

You can fill your Mighty Bin using a wheelbarrow by folding down one end of the Mighty Bin right to the ground so that wheelbarrow can run over the folded end. You must ensure that the ramp is safe before attempting to do this.
